Negros administrator suspended for immorality

Danny B. Dangcalan - The Philippine Star

BACOLOD City, Philippines – The Office of the Ombudsman has suspended for six months the administrator of Silay City in Negros Occidental, who was found guilty of immoral conduct.

The suspension order on Ignacio Salmingo was served by Mayor Jose Montelibano last Wednesday.

Silay resident Jose Lindy Chan Jr., a member of the Serve the People Movement Association, filed a complaint against Salmingo after he allegedly checked into a motel in Bacolod City with a married woman on April 15, 2011.

The Ombudsman said the fact that Salmingo checked into a motel room with a woman not his wife is a transgression of the basic norms of morality, decency and decorum.
