DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The International Police has monitored that suspected car theft ring leader Ryan ”Baktin” Yu is now in  Madrid, Spain after leaving Thailand last month, Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said yesterday.

Yu, who has a P6 million bounty on his head, is the alleged  head of a car theft syndicate operating in Mindanao. The group was blamed for more than 50 stolen vehicles that were recovered in a series of raids in the cities of Davao, General Santos, Butuan, Tagum, Tandag and Surigao recently.

Davao City police office director Senior Superintendent Ronald de la Rosa said Yu’s driver, Mark Daquiado, 26, a resident of Darson street in Barangay Maa in this city, surrendered after authorities launched a manhunt for Yu and his accomplices.
