3 killed, 8 hurt in CDO road mishap

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Police are set to file charges against the driver of a cargo truck that plowed through houses, killing three persons and causing injuries to eight others, including two pregnant women in Purok 7, Barangay Puerto here Sunday afternoon. 

SPO1 Romelio Ubas, traffic investigator at Puerto precinct, said they are just waiting for the families of the victims.

A police report identified the fatalities as Mario Bahe, his son John Lord and Ramon Aluyan.

Geraldine Tigon, Elena Jane Tigon, Merlyn Cañedo, Marven Cañedo, Corazon Bahe, Mark Cainong, Adonis Anoos and truck driver Ponciano Manipis suffered injuries and are confined in various hospitals here. 

Initial investigation showed the cargo truck (YCM-801), loaded with limestone, was bound for this city from Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon when it lost its brake and rammed into three houses.
