Cabanatuan radio anchor laid to rest

Manny Galvez - The Philippine Star

TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija, Philippines – Slain radio anchor Julius Caezar Cauzo was buried in his hometown in Barangay Sibul here yesterday morning, 10 days after he was gunned down in Cabanatuan City.

Supporters and colleagues of Cauzo from the Nueva Ecija Press Club, of which he was executive vice president, joined the funeral procession led by his wife Angie.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) is looking for possible clues on the killing, including text messages in Cauzo’s mobile phone.

Chief Inspector Julius Caesar Mana, Nueva Ecija CIDG provincial officer, said they are still waiting for the results of the digital forensic examination on Cauzo’s phone.

Gov. Aurelio Umali and the Cesar Vergara Foundation had offered a reward of P1 million each to anyone who can give information for the arrest of Cauzo’s gunman.

Police have released the electronic sketches of the gunman and his lookout.
