Artemio Dumlao - The Philippine Star

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Another killer in Abra, wanted for at least three murders, two frustrated murders and one foiled killing was thrown in jail after he was finally cornered by policemen in remote Tineg town in Abra.

Twenty-six-year-old Bastian Mablay Benwagen from Naglibacan, Tineg was arrested 6 a.m. Wednesday at Sitio Vera, Barangay Alaoa with the help of Tineg Mayor Edwin Crisologo, said Cordillera police director Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong.

Benwagan’s arrest was ordered by Abra Regional Trial Court Branch 2 Judge Corpuz Alzate, Magalong said. Police said no bail recommended for him.

Since last week, at least a dozen wanted criminals have fallen to pursuing policemen who were ordered by Magalong to intensify  the manhunt for wanted criminals in the region.
