4 more partylist groups secure SC order

MANILA, Philippines - Four more partylist groups have secured an order from the Supreme Court, stopping the Commission on Elections to disqualify the sectoral organizations from joining the mid-term polls next year.

In the SC en banc resolution, partylist groups Aksyon-Magsasaka Partido Tinig ng Masa, Kapatiran ng mga Nakulong ng Walang Sala Inc., Alliance for Rural Agrarian Reconstruction Inc., and Association for Righteousness Advocacy on Leadership also got a status quo ante order.

The High Court earlier issued an SQA order to four other partylist groups, including incumbent Ako Bicol Party.

The three others were the Association of Philippine Electric Cooperatives, 1st Consumers Alliance for Rural Energy Inc. and Alliance for Rural Concerns.

A total of eight partylist groups, which were earlier disqualified by the poll body have also secured a status quo ante order.
