Well digger survives 5-hour ‘burial’

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – A 40-year-old man miraculously survived five hours of having buried in soil in a well he was digging in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte last Thursday, authorities said.

Superintendent Jessie Gorospe, spokesman of the Ilocos Norte police, said the topsoil at the pit being excavated by George Coloma in Barangay Nagrebcan gave in when he reached his digging at 10 feet.

It took a backhoe five hours to finally extricate Coloma from the pit.
