Baby killed, 27 hurt in Zambo mishap

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A six-month-old baby girl was killed while 27 others were injured when the driver of a truck they were riding in lost control of the vehicle and swerved off the road in Tampilisan town, Zamboanga del Norte on Sunday, a police official said yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Sopronio Elcaldre, Zamboanga del Norte police director, said the victims were in a truck (SGD-215) driven by Seferino Bohol Anunat, 53, on its way to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay from Liloy, Zamboanga when the accident occurred. 

Elcadre said the victims were rushed to the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Hospital. The baby, whose name was withheld, was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians.
