LANAO DEL NORTE, Philippines – Residents of Sultan Naga Dimaporo town in this province have thanked the Aquino administration for pushing through with the purging of the local voters’ list and the conduct of a new registration.
Retired Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police chief Ahmad Omar, one of those who appealed to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to purge the voters’ list in Sultan Naga Dimaporo, said the recent general registration of voters was peaceful and orderly.
Omar, a former ambassador to Oman, said legitimate voters of Sultan Naga Dimaporo can now look forward to a clean book of voters that truly reflects the number of registrants in their municipality.
