23,000 expected to take PNPA admission test today

MANILA, Philippines - About 23,000 applicants are expected to troop to 29 designated test centers nationwide to take the Philippine National Police Academy Cadet Admission Test (PNPACAT) today.

PNPA director Chief Superintendent Clarence Guinto said the PNPACAT is one of the most anticipated examinations offered by the government to attract the best and brightest high school graduates who desire a career for police, fire or jail officers.

“PNPA cadets are groomed as future public safety officers and leaders and are conferred the rank of inspector upon graduation,” said Guinto.

He assured the public of the integrity of the test materials as PNPA personnel closely monitored and guarded their printing and storage to ensure that there would be no leakage.

He said passers would undergo the succeeding phases of the selection process for the PNPA cadetship program, which include medical and dental exams and neuro-psychiatric test.

Of the applicants, Guinto said 500 passers would enjoy full scholarship for four years leading to Bachelor of Science in Public Safety.

In the Caraga region, Superintendent Martin Gamba, PNP regional spokesman, said 480 examinees would take the test at the Father Saturnino Urios University in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
