PCG search on for 9 missing Zambales fishers

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) yesterday said its search was ongoing for nine fishermen who have been missing for 11 days after sailing near Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal. 

Cmdr. Armand Balilo, PCG spokesman, identified the missing fishermen as Ricky Quidez, Mac Mac Quidez, Melbert Quidez, Joven Cervantes, Glen Reyes, Gardo Docusin, Rogelio Elesterio Sr., Joseph Valdez, and Bibiano de la Peña III. All are from Zambales, except for Docusin.

Vice Admiral Edmund Tan, PCG commandant, said one of the fishermen reportedly made contact with a relative, saying they drifted toward Cabral Island in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro.
