Frat members snub preliminary hearing

- Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Only two neophytes among the 38 members of the Lex Leonum Fraternitas attended the preliminary investigation into last month’s fatal hazing of law student Marc Andre Marcos before the Dasmariñas prosecutor’s office yesterday.

Dasmariñas police chief Superintendent Ulysses Cruz said Ed Lara and Ryan Maranan and their respective legal counsels appeared before assistant city prosecutor Eulogio Burcer at around 10 a.m.

Cruz told The STAR that the 36 other respondents, including Gian Angelo Veluz, were only represented by their lawyers.

He said legal counsel Marimeir Marcos-Rivera represented the father of the victim.
