MANILA, Philippines - For selling more than a kilo of cocaine to a police undercover agent two years ago, a drug dealer was sentenced to life imprisonment yesterday in Cebu City.
In a 21-page decision, Judge Macaundas Hadjirasul of the Cebu City Regional Trial Court Branch 8, said the prosecution was able to prove the guilt of Russel Rosales, alias Rochell.
Hadjirasul also ordered Rosales to pay a fine of P500,000 and his Toyota Fortuner forfeited in favor of the government.
Rosales was arrested by a joint Cebu and Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force headed by Senior Superintendent Eduardo Acierto and Marvin Sanchez after handing over the cocaine to a police agent at the parking lot of the Mango Park Hotel in Cebu City on Nov. 2, 2010.
