CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines   – A businessman was killed in an ambush in Barangay Gulod in Labac, Batangas City Wednesday morning, police said yesterday.

Calabarzon police director, Chief Superintendent James Melad, ordered the Batangas police to create a team to investigate the killing of Jayson Catapang, 27, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the body.

Catapang, a former seaman, was in the driver’s seat of his Ford Everest parked at a gasoline station along Gov. Carpio Road when gunned down by two armed men on a motorcycle. His female companion survived the ambush.
