COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Two men on a motorcycle lobbed a fragmentation grenade at an Army detachment in Pikit, North Cotabato at dawn yesterday, wounding a militiaman.
1st Lt. Aries de la Cuadra, commanding officer of Charlie Company of the Army’s 7th Infantry Battalion (IB) said Tirso Wakan, a member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit, was injured in the explosion.
The bombing of the 7th IB’s detachment was the second in less than two months. Four militiamen were injured in the grenade blast last Aug. 23.
