Robbers kill 3 workers of rubber-buying station

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Armed men killed three staffers of a rubber-buying station before carting away about half-a-million pesos in Lamitan City, Basilan Thursday morning, police said.
The victims – Nonong McClintock, Sedrick Lisama, and Allan Abalyana – had just opened the rubber-buying station owned by one Charlie Cawat in Barangay Maligaya when five men on board two motorcycles arrived, fired at them with an assault rifle and .45-caliber pistol, and then escaped with the P500,000.
