Wrong suspect, Ilocos police exec clarifies

MANILA, Philippines - An Ilocos Norte police official has clarified the true identity of an alleged hit man arrested in Nueva Era town recently.

In a letter dated Sept. 4, Superintendent Jeffrey Gorospe identified the arrested suspect as Robert Bawit, alias Marzan Bawit, not Randy Baoit as a STAR report named.

According to Gorospe, Randy Baoit is an active commissioned police officer in their organization with the rank of police chief inspector, equivalent to major in the military.
