Tornado ruins 30 houses in La Union

SAN FERNANDO, La Union, Philippines – A tornado destroyed at least 30 houses in five barangays here yesterday afternoon, disaster officials said.

The twister struck houses and bancas and damaged power cables in the coastal villages of Poro Point, Catbangen, Ilocanos Sur, Ilocanos Norte, and Carlatan, they said.
