Leptospirosis kills 5 in P'sinan

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan, Philippines – Leptospirosis has claimed the lives of five people, mostly farmers, in five towns in the province, authorities said.
Dr. Policarpio Manuel, acting director of the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) here, said the victims were menfolk from the towns of Asingan, Aguilar, Lingayen, Urbiztondo and Binmaley.
Last month, there was another leptospirosis death. This month alone, 11 cases were admitted at the PPH.
