Zambo blast suspect's sketch released

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines  – Police released yesterday a computer-generated image of one of four suspects behind a bomb explosion inside a bus last Thursday. 

Senior Superintendent James Mejia, Zamboanga City police officer-in-charge, said the sketch was based on the description given by the bus conductor. 

“The suspect was said to be the guy who sat at the back of the bus where the bomb exploded after suspects alighted,” Mejia said. 

At least seven passengers, including the bus conductor, were injured by the blast that ripped a Rural Transit bus with body number 9224.

Mejia refused to tag any group who could be behind the bomb attack pending the result of the investigation.

“There were similarities to the previous improvised explosive device (used in the attack) but I don’t want to give any conclusion until all the aspects in the investigation is completed,” he said.
