Ex-cop hunted for murder in Pangasinan

SAN FABIAN, Pangasinan – A former policeman is being hunted for the death of a 52-year-old man in Barangay Cayanga here last Sunday.

Rommel Fortuno Tamayo, a member of the Manila Police District, allegedly shot dead Alberto Castro with a 9 mm pistol.

The suspect also shot the daughter of the victim, Caroline, but missed.

Tamayo then fled on a black motorcycle without plate number.

A report from the police provincial command showed that the suspect was also charged with murder in Manila.

Tamayo was also charged in connection with a shooting incident in Dagupan City last March 20.

The report added that the former policeman is allegedly involved in a notorious gun-for-hire syndicate operating in the provinces.
