Antipolo trader slain in market
MANILA, Philippines - A 48-year-old businessman was killed by a lone gunman in a busy public market in Antipolo City yesterday.
Trader Roberto Mamita was busy unloading pork from his tricycle at the wet section of the Roblou Public Market along Marcos Highway in Barangay Bagong Nayon when the gunman appeared from behind and shot him several times in the head and body with a .45-caliber pistol. The gunman then casually walked away from the scene.
Senior Superintendent Rolando Anduyan, Rizal police director, ordered a deeper probe on the killing, including Mamita’s background and his possible enemies.
