12 injured as bus falls into ravine in Bataan

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines  – At least 12 people, including a four-year-old girl, the driver and his conductor were injured when a passenger bus fell into a ravine along the highway in Mariveles, Bataan Friday.

Superintendent Joel Tampis, Mariveles police chief, told The STAR that Genesis Transit Bus (TVJ-877) driven by Michael Villas, 33, a resident of Barangay Tikiw in San Antonio, Nueva Ecija, lost control of the wheel while traversing a steep curve at around 11 p.m.

The bus, which came from Cubao, Quezon City, was bound for Mariveles. The accident occured about three kilometers away from the bus station.

The injured passengers were brought to different hospitals in Mariveles and Balanga town.
