6 landmine blast suspects arrested

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At least six suspects in the landmine explosion that killed an Army officer and wounded three other soldiers Friday night in New Bataan, Compostela Valley were arrested Saturday afternoon in a follow-up operation conducted by elements of the Army’s 66th Infantry Battalion.

The arrested suspects were identified as Herald Baugto, Junvin Hernandez, Mody Linda-an, Danilo Maunda, Arnesto Bagbag, and Darwin Montella.

The blast left 1Lt. Rodel Daguio of the 4th Scout Ranger Company dead. Wounded were Pfc. Richie Ursal, also of the 4th Scout Ranger Company, and S/Sgt. Arnold Pacino and Cpl. Jaime Clara of the 1001st Infantry Brigade.
