Red Cross restores typhoon-hit Isabela schools
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has initiated the rehabilitation of at least six typhoon-damaged school buildings in Isabela in time for the opening of classes tomorrow.
Antonietta Asis, PRC-Isabela chapter administrator, said the school buildings in Barangays Jones, Echague and San Agustin, were damaged by last year’s successive typhoons.
Apart from the school buildings, the PRC said it also funded the restoration of two barangay health centers, a communal restroom and a water system, which were also hit by typhoons ”Pedring” and ”Quiel” last year.
“Their restoration is part of (PRC’s) emergency assistance program to the typhoon affected localities,” Asis said.
