2 suspects in Capiz exec's killing charged

MANILA, Philippines - Police yesterday filed murder charges before the Department of Justice against two suspects in the killing of Mambusao, Capiz Vice Mayor Abel Martinez last May 4.

Named respondents in the complaint filed by the Capiz police were Geger Francisco and Sunday Danid, tagged as the gunman and the driver of the getaway motorcycle, respectively.

The mastermind, however, was still unidentified along with six other suspects.

Martinez, 79, who was also a physician, was killed by a lone gunman in front of his house in the Mambusao town proper.– Edu Punay, Cecille Suerte Felipe
