Businesswoman slain by houseboy

- Ed Amoroso -

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines  – A 65-year-old businesswoman was stabbed dead by her houseboy in her home in Sta. Cruz, Laguna past midnight yesterday, police said.

Relatives found the victim, Lourdes Yu, a grocery store owner and noodle manufacturer, with stab wounds in the neck in her room at around 1:30 a.m. yesterday.

Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Laguna police director, said the suspect, Jimbo Subo, 26, a stay-in helper of Yu, was arrested before he could escape with the help of neighbors and the victim’s other workers.

Murder charges have been filed against Subo. Probers suspect that an old grudge with the victim’s family motivated the killing.
