Laguna storeowner stabbed dead in heist
LAGUNA, Philippines – A businesswoman was stabbed dead during a robbery in her store in Calamba City last Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Laguna police director, said the attack on store-owner Rizalina Pineda was reported to the police by the father of a 10-year-old girl who managed to flee the store during the robbery.
Hours after the robbery-slay, police arrested a suspect, Ariel Brondo, 18. Charges of robbery with homicide and frustrated homicide were filed against him before the Calamba City pro-secutor’s office.
