CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A government employee tagged as one of the three principal suspects in the killing of a businessman in Las Piñas City two years ago was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding men in San Pablo City this province yesterday morning.
Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Laguna police director, said the slain suspect, Michael Jayson Calanasan, 36, who worked as a traffic enforcer, died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Cruz said probers were eyeing revenge as motive behind the killing.
Cruz said Calanasan, along with two dismissed policemen, was positively identified by several eyewitnesses as among those involved in the 2010 slay in Las Piñas.
