New Eastmincom chief assumes post

DAVAO CITY, Philippines  – Maj. Gen. Jorge Segovia will take over as commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), replacing Lt. Gen. Arthur Tabaquero, who is retiring today.

Segovia, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1980, served as commander of the Army’s 10th Infantry Division (ID) prior to his appointment.

AFP chief Gen. Jesse Dellosa will lead the turnover ceremony at the parade grounds of Camp Panacan today.

Brig. Gen. Ariel Bernardo, current chairman of the government panel in the ceasefire committee with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, will replace Segovia as 10th ID chief.
