Missing Romanian tourist found dead in Ifugao

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet  ,Philippines – A Romanian tourist reported missing for almost a week was found dead in Ifugao on Black Saturday.

Cordillera police director Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong said George Sfintes, 23, drowned at the Tappiya Waterfalls in Batad, Banaue.

Police said Sfintes’ body was found at around 5:30 a.m.

Tove Marion Winiger posted a picture of Sfintes on Facebook saying the latter has “gone missing in the Philippines.”

Winiger said Sfintes was last seen on April 4 “near the waterfalls, at around 1 p.m. wearing a dark blue swim suit with an orange and white stripe along either side.”
