PNP forms Task Force Archie
ZAMBOANGA CITY ,Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) has formed Task Force Archie to run after the killers of a university president in this city.
Arturo Eustaquio III, 60, president of the Universidad de Zamboanga, who was shot at around 1 p.m. last Sunday, was buried in Muslim rites yesterday.
Mayor Celso Lobregat said Police Regional Office 9 Napoleon Estilles tasked PRO 9 deputy for administration Mario Biong Yanga to head the task force.
“We will do what is necessary to address the killing of Archie,” Lobregat said.
Yanga, for his part, said they are pursuing the angle that Eustaquio’s killers were members of a gun-for-hire syndicate.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo has ordered the immediate arrest of the suspects.
