Ex-cop who turned daughter into sex slave nabbed

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A dismissed policeman was arrested in Cavite for allegedly turning his own daughter into a sex slave for two years, authorities said yesterday.

The 49-year-old former policeman was arrested by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 4-A headed by Chief Inspector Marlon Santos, in Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite.

Santos said the suspect was assigned to the provincial intelligence branch of the Cavite police before he was dismissed from the service in 2007.

He said the Imus court had issued an arrest warrant for the suspect.

Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., CIDG director, said the former policeman started molesting his daughter in 2000 when she was only 11 years old (she is now 23 years old).

In 2008, the suspect again raped his daughter who was then 18. The sexual assault was repeated several times from February 2008 to December 2010 when the girl got pregnant.

After she gave birth last year, the victim filed her formal complaint against her father. Last Feb. 1, the prosecutor’s office approved the filing of charges of acts of lasciviousness and rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 against the former policeman.

Pagdilao said the court did not recommend any bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
