Magnitude 2.9 quake jolts Masbate
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck the northwest part of Masbate yesterday morning but did not cause damage or injury, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the tremor occurred at around 8:17 a.m. with its epicenter traced at seven kilometers northwest of Masbate City where it was felt at Intensity 2.
Yesterday’s tremor was the latest aftershock recorded from the magnitude 5.2 quake that hit Masbate province last Tuesday. The quake left at least 10 people injured.
