3 hurt in Cotabato City blast
COTABATO CITY ,Philippines – Three people, including a minor, were wounded, as a powerful explosion rocked the city Thursday night, the military said.
Lt. Col. Jose Dorotheo Jalandoni, commanding officer of the anti-crime 7th Marine Battalion here, said bomb experts were still trying to determine what kind of improvised explosive was used in the attack.
The explosion slightly wounded high school student Bainot Pasandalan, 15; Pandiwata Sandigan, 50; and Joseph Tingson, a 24-year-old computer programmer.
Jalandoni said the bomb was planted at an intersection of the Gutierrez Avenue here, which leads to the 32-hectare compound of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
