4.1 quake jolts Negros Oriental
MANILA, Philippines - Almost two weeks after a strong 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck Negros Oriental, the province is still experiencing strong tremors, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday.
Phivolcs reported that at around 3:30 a.m. yesterday, a 4.1 magnitude tremor rocked Negros Oriental with the epicenter located 18 kilometers southwest of Vallehermoso town.
Last Feb. 6, Negros Oriental was jolted by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake that left several people dead and missing and several roads and bridges badly damaged.
Another 3.7 magnitude quake was detected in Davao del Sur at around 6:59 a.m. yesterday, its epicenter traced at 24 kms southwest of Sarangani town.
