NPA arms cache found in Bulacan

- Alexis Romero -

MANILA, Philippines – Military troops in Bulacan unearthed on Tuesday an arms cache believed to belong to New People’s Army (NPA) rebels.

Maj. Enrico Ileto, spokesman of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division, said the cache was discovered in Sitio Tubigan, Barangay Kalawakan in Donya Remedios town by members of the 56th Infantry Battalion.

Seized were an M-14 rifle, six M-14 magazines, three short magazines and one long magazine for M-16 rifle, and four pairs of combat boots.

Brig. Gen. Alan Luga, commander of the 7th ID, said the discovery of the arms would deplete the NPA’s capability.
