Councilor dead in gun accident

TUGUEGARAO CITY ,Philippines  – A councilor of Tagudin town in Ilocos Sur was killed Friday when he accidentally fired the caliber. 45 gun he was holding.

Ilocos Sur police director Senior Superintendent Nestor Amoyen said Rodrigo Lorena, 64, was examining the gun owned by Danilo Lanoza at the latter's house in Barangay Binmala, when it accidentally fired, hitting him in the chest. Lorena reportedly wanted to buy the gun.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Tagudin District Hospital.
