More rains forecast in South
MANILA, Philippines - The weather bureau yesterday warned residents in Mindanao and Central Visayas of possible flashfloods and landslides as two weather systems will bring more rains over these areas in the next three days.
Aldzar Aurelio, weather forecaster at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said a low pressure area and the tail-end of a cold front will continue to bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Mindanao.
Cloudy skies with widespread rains will prevail over the Surigao, Agusan and Davao provinces which may trigger flashfloods and landslides, he said.
Aurelio said rains brought by the tail-end of a cold front will also affect Central Visayas, which was badly hit by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake last Monday.
