CANDELARIA, Quezon, Philippines – Six teenagers sustained injuries when an old hanging bridge they were crossing over a ravine here suddenly snapped on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Police identified those injured as Clarisse Macasaet Beronia, 13; Cherre Ann Pamelar Meneses, 15; Ellaine Hernandez Villapando, 13; Jazz Hernandez Rosales, 12; Renz Lapaz Cueto, 15; and Bless Atienza, 15.
Police said the six teenagers were crossing the hanging bridge connecting the barangays of Poblacion and Malabanban Norte here at around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when one of its main cables snapped. As a result, the teens fell about 15 feet to the ground, sustaining head and body injuries.
