5.5 quake rocks Northern Luzon
MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 5.5 earthquake rocked parts of Northern Luzon yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs director Renato Solidum said the tremor occurred at around 12:36 a.m. and was centered at 41 kilometers northwest of Calayan, Cagayan.
It was felt at Intensity 5 in Calayan Island, Calayan, Cagayan; Intensity 4 in Camiguin Island, Calayan, Cagayan; Intensity 3 in Laoag City and Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte; Alacapan and Aparri, Cagayan; Basco, Batanes; and Santa Praxedes, Claveria, Sanchez-Mira and Ballesteros, all in Cagayan.
