S. Cotabato installs surveillance cameras in mining areas

KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – The provincial government of South Cotabato has installed surveillance cameras in mining areas in T’boli town.

South Cotabato provincial environment and management officer Seigfred Flaviano said the surveillance cameras will operate on a 24-hour basis to check on the activities of small-scale miners.

“It is part of the provincial government’s efforts to protect the welfare and safety of the legitimate miners and other people living near the mining areas,” Flaviano said.

South Cotabato Gov. Arthur Pingoy Jr. ordered the installation of the security cameras.
