2 Davao farm-to-market roads completed

- Rhodina Villanueva -

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has announced the completion of two farm-to-market roads worth P8.5 million in Davao Oriental.

DAR regional director Datu Yusoph Mama said the roads will benefit residents of LACAMBITA (La Union, Cambaleon, Bitaogan, Talisay) ARC in San Isidro, Davao Oriental.

“Farmers would have greater flexibility in their dealings with traders, following the concreting of two farm-to-market roads namely, the Junction National Highway to Talisay road and the Bangkok 1 to Purok Dahlia road,” he said.

Mama said that one of DAR’s goals is to improve farmers’ lives by increasing their income. “These roads will help realize that goal,” he said.

The farm-to-market roads were implemented under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Projects and funded by the Japan Bank for International Cooporation.
