9 Pangasinan cops relieved

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan ,Philippines  – Nine policemen of Urbiztondo City have been relieved of their duties pending an investigation into alleged neglect of duty during a shooting incident that left a game operator dead in an amusement area near a police station.

Senior Superintendent Michale Nicolas, deputy provincial director for administration, told The STAR that the nine policemen were transferred to the Provincial Public Safety Management Company in Alaminos City.

The policemen were identified as SPO4 Armando Mondero, SPO3 Modesto Salvador, SPO1s Benjamin Bugayong and Pascual Salomon and PO1s Jocelyn Austria, Corazon Gray, Cesar San Nicolas II, Eldin de la Cruz and Jerome Palisoc.

Nicolas said Senior Superintendent Rosueto Ricaforte, Pangasinan police provincial director, ordered the relief of the policemen amid reports that they did not respond to the crime.
