Couple slain day before wedding

DINGRAS, Ilocos Norte, Philippines  – A couple were shot dead by unidentified gunmen Friday, a day before they were supposed to get married.

Police said Denver Edica and Apple Sacramento, who had been living together for a year, were walking home to Barangay Elizabeth when they were attacked. They had just come from a local shop, where they bought the attire for their wedding, scheduled yesterday.

Edica and Sacramento died from gunshot wounds in the face, neck and torso. Investigators have yet to determine the motive for the shooting. Sacra­mento’s father, Juanito, said the couple had no known enemies.
