DAVAO CITY, Philippines – At least 30 tons of skipjack tuna were seen floating in Sarangani Bay in what Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) officials said was a result of a fish kill.
Sarangani PENRO said the fish kill affected three barangays in the towns of Maasim, Pananag, Kalalu and Lumatil.
The dead tuna were inside large fishnets owned by a fishing magnate from General Santos City.
