MANILA, Philippines - Palawan Gov. Abraham Kahlil Mitra said yesterday he would comply with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) order for him to answer within five days the recall petition filed against him by the civil-society group Kilusan Love Malampaya (KLM).
The Comelec ordered Mitra to comment on KLM’s statements before they would decide on the motion for reconsideration that he filed.
In a text message to The Star, Mitra said the Seal of Good Housekeeping Award given to the provincial government by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) would be enough answer to the recall petition.
“DILG has given the province Seal of Good Housekeeping which means we adhere to principles of good governance and transparency,” Mitra said.
