Albay coed raped, killed

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – All Saints’ Day turned grim for the family of a 19-year-old coed of Bicol University (BU) who was raped and killed in Daraga, Albay.

Senior Superintendent William Macavinta, Albay police director, said the body of Lesybil Lim Almonacid, a third-year accounting student of BU-Daraga campus, was found in a grassy lot some 50 meters away from her house in Barangay Bascaran.

Police said Almonacid’s mouth was smashed with a hard object and her underwear was found a few meters away from her body.

Reports said Almonacid sought permission from her parents to visit a friend at around 4 p.m. on All Saints’ Day. It was the last time she was seen.
