'Hot logs' seized in Nueva Vizcaya

- Charlie Lagasca -

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya  ,Philippines – Some 2,000 board feet of hot lumber were intercepted in Dupax del Norte town here yesterday.

The illegally sawn common hardwood worth at least P50,000 were on a truck driven by Joseph Lunag, 34, of Maddela, Quirino.

Authorities said the forest products, believed to have been cut in the Sierra Madre Mountain in the Nueva Vizcaya-Quirino border, were without proper documents.

Reports indicated that the lumber, whose seizure came following a tip-off from village officials, had been traced to one Ace Benito of Solano in this town.
