Manila cop gunned down in Laguna

SAN PEDRO, Laguna, Philippines – A Manila policeman was gunned down by two motorcycle-riding men while he was talking to someone in Barangay Langgam here Saturday morning, authorities said yesterday.

Superintendent Kirby John Kraft, San Pedro police chief, said SPO2 Oscar Mariscotes, assigned to the Manila Police District, was approached by one of his attackers who at close range shot him twice at around 8:30 a.m.

Kraft said Mariscotes’ companion, a certain Eddie Bande, was unhurt in the attack.
